WHAT IS SSC

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a premier organization under the Government of India that is responsible for recruiting staff for various posts in the different ministeries and departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate offices. Established in 1975, SSC plays a crucial role in selecting candidates for a wide range of government positions, ensuring a transparent, efficient, and merit-based recruitment process.

1. Recruitment to Group B and C Posts:

SSC conducts examinations and interviews to recruit staff to Group B (Non-Gazetted) and Group C (Non-Technical) posts in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India.

  • SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Exam: For recruitment of Junior Engineers in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts.

  • SSC Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) Exam: For Group C non-gazetted, non-ministerial posts in various central government departments.

  • SSC General Duty (GD) Constable Exam: For recruitment in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, NIA, and SSF.

  • SSC Central Police Organization (CPO) Exam

  • SSC Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) Exam

  • SSC Stenographer Grade C & D Exam: For stenographer posts in various government offices.
